I got to it. I started to plan my days. And then I hit the first obstacle: tiredness.
You see, whenever I’m in university, from time to time I feel overwhelmed. Physically and emotionally. During those times, I feel like I’m uncapable, that nothing will work out and I will fail my classes. Then I don’t want to talk to anyone and just prefer to disappear. Usually these lies of the devil reach other areas of my life, too.
In these cases, I found, it’s really difficult to keep a schedule. When you suddenly feel like it doesn’t matter anymore.
Sometimes in these cases I would just hit the sack and wake up 30-50 minutes later, feeling better and getting back to life. But I can’t afford these episodes. I need to find balance and consistency.
Of course, this sudden tiredness isn’t just a lack of sleep. I sleep around 8 hours on most days, my body has mostly adjusted to this, and I often wake up at 6 AM even when I set my alarm for later. What I suspect the main factor could be is stress.
You see, in Pakistan, everything is relaxed. People don’t care if they are late. They don’t worry too much about anything, really. They just take life as is, with a cup of tea. Here in Hungary, though, things are different. I experience a lot of expectations and anxiety. The way people live and think here is just more stressful.
I also miss the way people care about each other over there in the east. I repeatedly tried to just greet people and ask how they were, about their life. Mostly they didn’t even answer.
The solution? Keep trying. Instead of 8, I will try to sleep 9 hours. I’ll be working on my friendships. And I will live differently than others around me.
Peace.
